Book Review: “Saggio sulla lucidità”

By Josè Saramago

This pungent novel by Saramago tells of a hypothetical situation in which a population called to vote expresses itself for almost 90% with a blank ballot. What can happen to civil society? A narration as surreal as it is incredible, but still a criticism of today’s involvement of citizens in political life.

The writing style is also interesting, deconstructivist with respect to punctuation.
An absolutely recommended read and a starting point for reading future novels by the same author.
