Book review: “Monolith to Microservices: Sustaining Productivity While Detangling the System”

--

By Sam Newman

Definitely a book every software engineer must read! Newman shows how complex is the job of restructuring a monolithic application in a microservice one, where you can fail and how much. Correctly the author put the doubt into your mind if it is the correct choice for you to follow the microservice approach or not, or if you are ready for that. There are so many challenges that the team and his organisation must be well aligned with that challenges! Never do the transformation all together, but design and follow an iterative and evolving path. Complex software will become even more complex with the transformation, and only a strong discipline and good organization will make you successful!
